Jomsom Trek offer you wonderful panaroma of 7th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Nilgiri (6940m) and many other mountains as well which is popular for Himalayan biodiversity and typical hospitality showered by Thakali community residents of Kali Gandaki river valley, chance to explore age-old Buddhist culture with spellbinding vision of snow capped Himalayan peaks. It offers you to Annapurna region crossing deepest gorge Kali Gandaki, region popular for unique Thakali culture and transitional zone between Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu culture. The trek over the trail running midst of village collage of antique houses made of slate stones with flat roofs on backdrop of snow clad mountains along sanctifying visit to holy and beautiful Muktinath and even god of salvation. This short Jomsom Trek makes you fantastic for your short period of holiday.

Trip Itinerary

01 Day Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft) and transfer to Hotel.

After arrival at Kathmandu International Airport an ‘Region Treks’s representative will take you to your hotel in town. You will be briefed about your trek and there will be time to walk around in the vicinity of the hotel. Evening Meal in the hotel.

02 Day Rest and preparation or sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast we offer a guide for a tour of the Kathmandu valley with visits to the Pashupatinath Temples, Durbar Square and the Boudhanath Stupa. If preferred you can have a free day. Evening meal in the hotel.

03 Day Fly to Pokhara & Pokhara Sightseeing

Today, we fly to Pokhara early in the morning catching spectacular views of the Himalayas through windows of our airplane. After taking a bit rest, we do sightseeing around Pokhara Valley. Pokhara is the beautiful lake city. We will catch a magnificent view of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, the five peaks of Annapurna and others. Phewa Lake is the second biggest lake of Nepal. We cannot stop admiring the state of Fish Tail Mountain reflecting in the lake. We also take a boat around the Fewa Lake or just can take an hour's walk to the World Peace Pagoda. Evening time, we spend exploring around the lakeside. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

04 Day Fly to Jomsom (2713m) & trek to Kagbeni (2,810m)

Early morning, we will catch our flight to Jomsom (district head quarter of Mustang) and trek to Kagbeni. It takes nearly 30 minutes on flight to arrive at Jomsom over the gorge of the two huge mountains, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We take a short rest at Jomsom with morning breakfast and head towards Kagbeni. On the way to Kagbeni, we see dry rocky hills, Kaligandaki River, many snow capped mountains like Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche Peak, Thapa Peak, Dhampus Peak, Thorong Peak etc.; and beautiful farmlands with apple gardens. Nearly after 3 hrs long trek, we arrive at Kagbeni where we visit an old Monastery, Hindu temple on the Kaligandaki Riverside where Hindu people remind their late (lost) family members with ritual worshipping. Stay overnight at Guest house in Kagbeni.

05 Day Kagbeni to Muktinath (3710m)

Today, we head towards our auspicious destination i.e. Muktinath. We will have many scenic picturesque places during the walk. From Kagbeni the path climbs steeply up to re-join the direct trail leading to Khingar (3200m). The trail goes through a desert landscape till Jarkot Village from where we see a beautiful view of snowcapped and amazing desert mountains. We climb further more from there; and nearly 4 hrs long trek, we reach at our auspicious destination Muktinath. Muktinath is an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhist. The area hosts a Vishnu temple and a Monastery nearby. Muktinath itself demonstrates the religions harmony in Nepal. We explore the Vishnu Temple and Monastery where we see never setting fire flam on the water. We visit nearby villages around Muktinath with beautiful mountain views as well. Stay overnight in Muktinath.

06 Day Muktinath to Marpha (2665m)

Today, we explore Muktinath Temple and do worshiping (Puja) there. We also do Puja at Vishnu Temple and Gompa in the morning. After morning breakfast, we descending through Ranipauwa village on the steep down and barren hillside then we walk down to Kagbeni and then to Jomsom (district headquarter of Mustang District). We see a beautiful scene of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m.), Mt. Nilgiri and many other snowcapped mountains. We cross many beautiful farmlands on this trail. Finally we arrive at Marpha in the late afternoon. The trail goes along with a plateau above Kali Gandaki river- the world`s deepest gorge. The barren landscape of this area resembles Tibet. Marpha is also famous as the apple capital of Nepal where one can enjoy different items made from apple. The local apple brandy of Marpha is famous all over Nepal. Stay overnight at Marpha.

07 Day Trek to Lete -2470m

After breakfast, we trek towards Lete village. On the way to Lete, we come across many other traditional villages of the ethnic Thakali people. We see many apple gardens as well. We have amazing views in 360 degrees panorama of Himalayan peaks: Dhaulagari, Tukuche Peak, the three Nilgiris, Fang and Annapurna I. From Chokhopani, we continue to Kokhethanti on the way crossing a river; then we come across the newly constructed road site before reaching Kokhethanti of Kalopani. We see the trees of Sebacton; its fruit juice is very famous in this area. Stay overnight at Lete.

08 Day Trek to Tatopani 1160m

Today, we trek to Tatopani (natural hot spring water spot). The journey mostly goes through downhill. We cross the bridge at Ghasa then we drop to lower elevations and emerge back into subtropical forests with lush vegetation. We explore Rupse Chahara (popular waterfall). We continue to trek down the east bank from Kopchepani via Garpar to a bridge at Dana the deepest gorge in the trail. This area is famous for orange farming. We find many villages in this trail where we can observe traditional lives or the lifestyle of the local people. We get relax and freshen of having bath in the natural hot water spring at Tatopani. Stay overnight at Tatopani.

09 Day Trek to Ghorepani 2775m

After breakfast you trek to Ghorepani. During the trek, we observe the lifestyle of the people in the midland villages of Nepal. Ghara and Sikha are the villages with terraced and inclined farmlands. We gradually walk steep up to ascent Ghorepani. While traversing through the Phalate, Chitre and a no-habitation area, we enter with rhododendron, birch, magnolia and some meadows on the way. As we gain height, the peaks ahead look wonderful. We will stay at Ghorepani for we have to make the climb to Poon Hill early tomorrow morning. Stay overnight at Ghorepani.

10 Day Ghorepani to Pokhara via Uleri, Hille & Nayapul

Early in the morning, we trek nearly an hour towards Poonhil and catch an amazing view of sunrise from Poon Hill (3210 m). From there we also see a spectacular beauty of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Mt. Nilgiri (7061 m.), Mt. Annapurna South (7219 m.) and many other snow capped mountains. Then we back to same guesthouse and have breakfast and trek down to Nayapul. We pass beautiful rhododendron forest where the whole hill becomes red in March and April with rhododendron flowers. On the way we also see different waterfalls, birds, wild animals, plain farmlands, and many more. We trek beautiful villages like Uleri, Tikhedhunga, Hille, Sule, Birethati (route permit and team checking point); and we finally arrive at Nayapul from where we drive to Pokhara (a city of lake).

11 Day Drive or fly back to Kathmandu

If we like by driving it will be better to hold on the left pane of the vehicle to enjoy the sceneries through the route. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will be escorted to the hotel for rest. But if you back through air it will take nearly 25 minutes to Kathmandu. So we will do shopping and half day sightseeing in Pokhara. And we catch your flight in the afternoon. Today is the exact end of our trip, so we share our experiences gained during the trip with wonderful dinner at hotel. Stay overnight at Hotel.

12 Day Final Departure from Kathmandu.

After a memorable experience, we take you approximately 3 hours before to the airport for final departure. Thank you for your journey with Region Treks. On the way back to home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the beautiful country of Nepal

Similarly, Multiple Entry Tourist Visa for 90 days by paying the US $ 100. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos and cash for the Visa.).
  • Lunch and evening meals in Kathmandu (and also in the case of early return from the mountain other than the scheduled itinerary).
  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early arrival, late departure, and early return from the mountain (due to any reason) other than the scheduled itinerary.
  • Travel Insurance required for rescue and evacuation.
  • Personal expenses (phone calls, laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, extra porters, bottle or boiled water, shower, etc.)

your trip trip with our agency, we need a photocopy your passport and
20% of total amount a non refundable booking deposit is required for
every trip booking per person of trip cost plus domestic flight ticket
amount to by the ticket unless otherwise agreed. The rest of the money
can be paid after arriving at our office, full is required before
starting the trip and for your last minute booking you need to pay full
amount of money as an advance before a week.
