Ghorepani Trek located in northern-central Nepal which lies elevation of approximately 2874 m (9429 ft). Poon Hill 3210m highest elevation for this trip and which is popular for sunrise view of the snowy rugged Annapurna Himalaya range. Gorepani Trek is on of the famous Annapurna mountain range in Nepal.This trekking in Nepal offers the tantalizing and spectacular glimpse of mountains along with charming villages inhabited particularly by the Gurungs & Magars with dense of rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys It takes a moderate level of fitness to complete, and the max elevation is 3,210 meters (so there’s no real risk of altitude sickness). Pokhara is the closest main access city to begin treks into the Annapurna range. The place used to be a rest stop where ancient traders found water (pani in Nepali) for their horses (ghora in Nepali) thus leading to the nomenclature Ghorepani.
After arrival at Kathmandu International Airport an ‘Region Treks’s representative will take you to your hotel in town. You will be briefed about your trek and there will be time to walk around in the vicinity of the hotel. Evening Meal in the hotel.
After breakfast we offer a guide for a tour of the Kathmandu valley with visits to the Pashupatinath Temples, Durbar Square and the Boudhanath Stupa. If preferred you can have a free day. Evening meal in the hotel.
On this day, we move to Pokhara that takes 6-7 hours drive. The trekkers can do small shopping for the trek and walk around the lakeside and overnight stay in Pokhara. Alternate, you can fly to Pokhara and the flight time is about approx 25 Minutes (with additional cost)
It takes around 2 hours drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. After reaching Nayapul, Our trek begins. To reach Tikhedunga, we have to go through the bridge over a small stream to get to Birethanti (1025m) and follow the east bank of Bhurungdi Khola. Then, we reach Sudame (1340m) beyond a pasture used by caravans. We climb steadily up the side of the valley to reach Hille (1460m) and about 15 minutes above Hille is the Tikhedhunga.
This is a trek of 6-7 hours which starts crossing the Tikhedhunga Khola on a suspension bridge, then drops and crosses the Bhurungdi Khola on a large bridge at 1520m. The trail climbs very steeply on a stone staircase that is said to have more than 3300 steps which descend to the large Magar village of Ulleri (2020m). The trail passes through two sparkling clear streams, a small ridge and another stream before making final climb to another Magar village of Nangathanti (2430m). About an hour past this village we reach Ghorepani through Oak and Rhododendron forest.
Poon Hill is one of the best view points for the gorgeous Himalayan from Dhaulagiri to Annapurna to Machhapuchre i.e Dhaulagiri I-VI, Gurja Himal, Tukuche Peak, Annapurna South, Annarpurna I, Bhahra Sikhar (Annapurna Fang), Nilgiri and so on. We take an early morning walk from Ghorepani to Poon Hill with the view of beautiful mountains. Then, we meet series of ups and downs through the forest of bamboo, rhododendron and birch to reach Deurali. After Deurali, we reach Banthanti, crossing the bridge over the stream and finally to Tadapani which provides us an excellent views of Mountains
Ghandruk is the most finest and famous trekking area of Nepal from where we are able to get the view of Annapurna ranges. To reach Ghandruk we descend through huge boulders into the maze, through forests to Bhaisi Kharka. Ghandruk is a big Gurung Settlement, kind of modern town of this trek where we can see local museum and Buddhist Monasteries. There is an Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) office.
Today, we trek down to Nayapul where we started our trekking on the very first day and then we drive to Pokhara and stay for remaining days exploring Pokhara. Day 09: Drive, Pokhara – Kathmandu Day 10: Departure After a memorable experience, we take you approximately 3 hours before to the airport for final departure. On the way back to Kathmandu you can enjoy the drive including beautiful landscape and people their activities between Pokhara to Kathmandu. Evening is free time.
