Overview
Annapurna Sanctuary trek is one of the most popular treks in the Annapurna region. The trail goes alongside terraced rice paddies, lush rhododendron forests and high altitude landscapes with panoramic views amidst the majestic peaks of Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna South (7219 m), Machapuchhre (6993 m) and Hiunchuli (6441 m).
From Chhomrong more than half trekking is an up-and-back, meaning that you will be hiking down the same trail you hiked up. This is the reality of the geography—the Modi Khola Gorge is the only way into the Sanctuary for trekkers. Second, the gains in elevation are quicker than preferred, rising from Pokhara at 940 meters (3,085 feet) to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters (13,550 feet) in this short period. This elevation change isn’t optimal, but the highest point on the trek is considerably lower than other major treks in Nepal, many of which reach 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) or more. Besides we will observe beautiful landscape and gurung villages and the trail goes through Modi Khola Gorge with continue following the rules of acclimatization. This trail goes up the Modi Khola Gorge into the heart of the sanctuary and some of the most dramatic mountain scenery on the way.

Trip Itinerary
01 Day Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m/4265ft) and transfer to Hotel.
After arrival at Kathmandu International Airport an ‘Region Treks’s representative will take you to your hotel in town. You will be briefed about your trek and there will be time to walk around in the vicinity of the hotel. Evening Meal in the hotel.
02 Day Rest and preparation or sightseeing in Kathmandu.
After breakfast we offer a guide for a tour of the Kathmandu valley with visits to the Pashupatinath Temples, Durbar Square and the Boudhanath Stupa. If preferred you can have a free day. Evening meal in the hotel.
03 Day Drive 7 hours to Pokhara by tourist coach. Overnight in Pokhara.
After hot breakfast drive 200km to Pokhara and it takes about 6-7 hours from Kathmandu by tourist bus. It is an exciting and romantic drive that we can enjoy beautiful scenic view of terraced rice field, eye catching landscape, Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers and incredible view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal and most of Annapurna Himalayan Range. The tourist coach stops for breakfast at 09:00 am and at around 12:00 for lunch on the way to Pokhara.
04 Day Drive to Kande and trek to Tolka (1700m), 5 hrs walk. Overnight in Tolka.
Half an hour drive to Phedi and start trek to Tolka/1810m. The trail is steep until Dhampus and pleasant easy walk up to Deurali then the trail descends steep down to Bherikharka and 30 minutes walk takes us to Tolka. Stay there overnight in lodge.
05 Day Trek to Jhinu (1750m), 5 - 6 hrs walk. Overnight in Jhinu Danda in lodge.
We walk a pretty flat trail until Landruk then descend down and trek along the river through Himalpani and cross suspension bridge over Modikhola near New Bridge. Then we walk until reaching Jhinu located on the ridge. We hike down to natural hot spring after getting there to take healing bath and come back to hotel. Stay overnight at lodge.
06 Day Trek to Sinuwa (2350m), 6 hrs walk. Overnight in Sinuwa in lodge.
The trail ascends steep up to upper Chhumrung then it descends down 310 meter through thousands of stone staircase crosses then crosses Chhumrung Khola on bridge and climbs up to Sinuwa at the height of 2340 meter. The place has magnificent view of Mt.Fishtail. Stay overnight at lodge.
07 Day Trek to Himalaya (2900m) 5-6 hrs walk. Overnight in lodge.
08 Day Trek to MBC (3720m), 5 hrs walk. Overnight in MBC in lodge.
In the morning after breakfast, the trail ascends up and the valley widens after Deurali and we can see beautiful view and Gangapurna. One hour hiking takes us beautiful to Machhapuchre Base Camp from the place of Ice Cave. You can enjoy the wifi service there to write back to family and friends. Stay there overnight in lodge.
09 Day Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), - Deurali (3200m), 6-7 hrs walk.
In the early morning, we hike up to ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) at height of 4310m. Explore Annapurna Base Camp and after breakfast walk down to same hotel at MBC and trek down to Dovan. Stay there overnight.
10 Day Trek to Chhumrung (2170m), 5-6 hrs walk. Overnight in lodge.
Today, we trek to Chhumrung passing Bamboo, Sinuwa and Banuwa. You can enjoy the cyber café at German bakery and update your trekking news with family. Stay there overnight.
11 Day Trek to Ghandruk (1940m), 5-6 hrs walk. Stay overnight in in Ghandruk in lodge.
The trail goes through a pretty flat at first then descends down Kimrong Khola and hike up to Komrong Danda. We can stop there for lunch break then continue our trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful Gurung village also known as a “Gurung Heritage” there we can visit Gurung museum and a monastery. Stay there overnight.
12 Day Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara in Hotel.
Today is our last day of trekking. We descend down to Kimche, there we can catch the jeep to Nayapul if you feel tired if not we continue walking until reaching Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. Stay overnight in hotel.
13 Day Drive to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.
Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist coach or private vehicle or fly back to Kathmandu. It depends on package service you buy with us. Stay overnight in Hotel.
14 Day Final Departure from Kathmandu.
After a memorable experience, we take you approximately 3 hours before to the airport for final departure. Thank you for your journey with Region Treks. On the way back to home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the beautiful country of Nepal.

For
your trip trip with our agency, we need a photocopy your passport and
20% of total amount a non refundable booking deposit is required for
every trip booking per person of trip cost plus domestic flight ticket
amount to by the ticket unless otherwise agreed. The rest of the money
can be paid after arriving at our office, full is required before
starting the trip and for your last minute booking you need to pay full
amount of money as an advance before a week.
